From West to East
With an initial conversation revealing a student who wanted to combine the study of sociology, maths and photography at university, the USA was the natural point of study. However, with the US not an option due to family preferences, more creative solutions had to be found. A range of university colleges in the Netherlands were applied for before on one call the suggestion of ‘what about Japan?’ was made. Fast-forward a few months and the student and her parents were delighted that she secured a place in the early application round at Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies, and she flew off to Tokyo to start her studies full of excitement.
